School, gym and Cubs keep me busy

Monday 7th December: Grey and overcast, again. We kept the fire alight all day.
We schooled in the morning. This week we are doing some work around a poem called "The Moon" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Another homeschool parent has put together some activities to create a lapbook, free via the internet. We are practising speaking the poem out loud, as a group, learning how we can change the speed, volume and character of our voice to bring the poem to life. We're also working hard on maths and keeping our weather trackers up to date rather than handwriting exercises.
Steve spent the morning in Timaru test-driving secondhand cars and then came home to talk and think about which to choose to buy. His friend Greg called round to do something aeroplane-ish together and I took the three boys into town for gymnastics. There was a rush home and eat tea and get Edward organised for Cubs. They were having an end-of-year party and it was clear that they needed some help so I stayed and helped set out the food and deal with the injuries from T-ball.
Finally I was home at nearly 8pm and got on with some things I need to have made before the nativity play this weekend.
The photo is of Giddy the Goat, still looking as wide as a battleship. Is she with child, or just well-fed???
