Sun and showers

Tuesday 1st September: Sunny and showers. The day started mild and sunny and we did an hour's schooling before walking to piano lessons. The lessons went well except that Peter decided he wasn't going to look at the music on the page but instead play as many keys as needed to find the right note having remembered what the music sounded like! As we left Ruth's house to walk home the wind became strong and gusty and cold, then as we got to the first corner the rain began. We found oursleves battling against the wind and getting soaked as we didn't have a coat between us!
Once safely home the sun came out, the wind dropped and the washing got lovely and dry the rest of the day!
We finished off our days' schooling before lunch and then headed out to the house. We were delighted to find 3 decorators there plastering walls in one room and sanding down others in the next. A family of homeschoolers came out to see our house and Jennie and I sat on the deck drinking tea while the 6 children played some sort of game involving a pirate and another with a bow and arrows and lots of running around and squealing.
From there we went back into town to get shopping and new books from the library.
In the evening Steve went to a GP peer review group in Timaru and I sat at home and started to make plans for Peter's up-and-coming birthday party.
The photo is of the inside of our decorator's van.
