Sunday 6th September: Father's Day, and happy birthday Robin. Another warm sunny day after a frosty start. Jessie the hen was alive and well this morning and three eggs were in the nesting box, so normal service was resumed. The boys woke Steve up at 7 to give him his cards and gifts.
Steve went off to the house early and the boys and I went off to Sunday School. I was helping out this week. Peter got to choose a gift from the treasure trove box there as it had been his birthday during the week. He chose a large magnifying glass.
We collected food for lunch and drove over to the house. We decided to let Giddy the Goat, Mummy Sheep and Lamb Chops run around the paddock Tinkerbell the Cow is in. She didn't take too kindly to this but soon gave up chasing them off when she realised they couldn't actually eat all the grass in her field!
We had lunch and then I decided to spend the afternoon cutting the long grass in two areas behind the concrete block sheds. For this I needed to use the strimmer so got dressed up appropriately. Steve decided to take a photo as he said I looked really scary.
We got lots of work done at the house then Steve got called out and it was time for the boys and I to pack up and head home for tea. I'd had a chicken cooking in the slow cooker all day so it didn't take long to cook some potatoes and vegetables.
Steve got some more calls in the evening and I finished a cross-stitch card I started last evening.
