Hard at work all day

Saturday 8th August: A cold frosty start then another sunny day. We went out to the house at 9am to spend a whole day working there. Our friend Gordon was busy all day removing surface wiring and putting in extra power sockets. His nephew Hayden stripped wallpaper for 8 hours and worked really hard. Even with all his work and one of us stripping all day too, there is still lots to do. It has now cost us more to hire the wallpaper stripper than if we had bought one for ourselves! This evening my shoulders ache like mad but I know there's another couple of days ahead. In fact to reduce the stripping we are removing some walls with paper on where the walls are in bad condition and are going to put new wall board up instead.
The boys were great, keeping themselves busy all day. They moved rotten wood to make a bonfire, ferried stripped paper to the bonfire, and moved more wood up to the woodshed.
I made a chilli and rice for us all to enjoy for lunch and that proved a success, followed by chocolate and coffee layer cake.
Back at the house for tea I made sandwiches for the boys, and made a pizza with some of the remaining chilli on top for Steve and I.
The photos are some more the boys took of themselves. Jonathan feels the need to pull silly faces for all photos at the moment. May that moment soon pass!!
