A day trip to ski

Saturday 1st August: Today we were expecting the weather to be windy again and so didn't think there would be any skiing, so we were surprised when we woke up to find all was calm and the skifield was open. We ate, dressed and packed the truck and were off an hour after waking up, and were at Roundhill two hours later.
Edward and Peter spent all day on the main speedway and terrain park together, Steve was off skiing the more tricky trails, and I stayed with Jonathan who wanted to stay on the platter lift slope all day. By lunchtime thick dark clouds had come over but these soon cleared to blue skies again. Ski conditions were excellent and the 2 degrees felt lovely in the sun.
The lifts stop at 4 and then we headed home. We stopped at Fairlie (halfway) and bought fish and chips, then sat at a picnic table beside the road to eat them. As we sat there the sun went down and it got chilly, about 11 degrees.
We drove home and got in about 7.15pm. This is the first time we have done a day trip to Roundhill and it all worked out well but it does make a long day.
The photos are of Peter skiing, Edward and Jonathan waiting for lunch, and the view from where we ate our lunch.
