Tuesday 3rd November: Cool but sunny, high of about 15 degrees. For some reason the fire kept going out today so I used up lots of newspaper and pine cones trying to get it restarted!
After my first cup of tea it was time to feed the lambs. They still don't come up to feed but have to be cornered and caught. Felicity showed a little more interest in milk and Shirley loves it.
Our schooling went well. Mid-morning the hens were let out and insisted on running around my feet. We need to go to Timaru this afternoon so the boys planned the route with road and street maps.
Mum rang to say she and Dad had arrived in Christchurch and were having a look around there.
After lunch we fed the lambs again with slightly better success and then drove to Timaru. I had a look at a table and chairs for sale on trade-me then we went to a playground. As part of their schooling the boys drew a plan of the playground... and then got to play in it!
We bought a new kettle in Timaru after ours had fizzed and stopped on Saturday, about half an hour after Steve had left. We got home about 5pm and cooked pork for tea. After we had eaten it was time for the third and final bottle for the lambs. Amazingly Felicity drank about 100ml and Shirley scoffed the remaining 400ml in under 2 minutes and didn't want to let go of the teat!
Shirley is getting brave enough to creep up and sniff my knees while I'm feeding Felicity.
In the evening I was busy sorting more boxes and finishing off the gym club minutes.
