Hot and blowy

Wednesday 4th November: It was hot and blowy when we got up this morning, with very strong gusts of wind. By the afternoon it was 27 degrees but the wind had dropped, then it suddenly cooled at tea-time and it was 10 degrees by 8pm.
First thing the lambs needed milk but first they needed catching. Why do everyone else's lambs come to the gate for their bottle of milk and I still have to chase ours round??
In the morning we did some schooling and then Jeanette and Allan called in about 9.30am to help trim Rosemary the ewe's feet. They stayed for coffee then we got back to our studies. Today we tried to learn how to use a compass but I got confused once we got started so I need to read up some more after I've written this and then try again tomorrow.
After lunch we drove into town and visited the library. We were delighted they had their air-conditioning on because it was soooooo hot outside. From there we drove to Atwill Park which is the Scouts' outdoor activity centre 7kms out of town. Today at Keas we were planting new trees to celebrate 30 years of Keas.
Back at home we had tea and then fed the lambs again, then it was time for the boys to go to bed.
Jonathan took the photo of me, and the other one is of a group of the Keas, our two boys with the white hats on.
