Get off yer wand and shiver me timbers

Wednesday 1st July: Today was cold and damp and yucky. Steve was home from work with some viral symptoms so he grumped around the house all day. We had another busy day getting some schooling done but also getting entries for the Waimate Winter Show ready. We did some maths and reading plus three lots of baking, vegetable creations and some more knitting. Edward also made his hat for the disco this afternoon.
Before we knew it it was time for the Keas end-of-term disco. The Pippins had been invited too - they are girls aged 5-7, called Rainbows in England. There were 22 children in all, boogie music, lights and a glitter ball on the ceiling, and as a treat we bought a helium balloon kit.
The boys enjoyed dressing up in their costumes (see photo) and good fun was had by all. I spent the evening finishing off my entries for the Winter Show and ended up having a very late night.
