Friday 3rd July: As we have 4 week terms, end of terms come round frequently! Today was cold but bright early on, but then the rain returned. We walked to piano lessons and all three boys enjoyed and did well again. We took a longer route home as usual, to explore neighbouring roads. Once home I enjoyed a cup of tea and the boys enjoyed their daily dose of hot chocolate before getting down to some school work. We drew the digestive system on "Drawn-athon" - our Jonathan-sized body outline stuck on our kitchen wall which we add to as we study each body system. We also did some more work on our workbooks about Charlie and the Chocolate factory, completed the final online test quiz for our Spanish course and I heard the boys read aloud.
After lunch we walked into town to the Stadium to see the entries at the Waimate Winter Show, then popped into the supermarket on the way to the library to help take apart the Kea/Cub/Scout display we helped set up a few weeks ago.
Home for tea. The sausage casserole was weird. I used pre-cooked sausages for the first time because I had some in the freezer that needed to be used up, but they exploded in the oven and didn't look at all attractive on the plate! For pudding I cooked a yummy bannoffee pudding.
In the evening Steve and I made an offer on the house we were visiting over the past couple of weeks and the owners and we then made a few counter-offers but did not reach any agreement.
The photos are of two displays from the Winter Show - a table of children's entries and another of enormous vegetables.
