Jonathan's birthday

Tues 24th Feb: Jonathan’s 5th birthday. I started the day by asking Jonathan if he could remember where he was for his fourth birthday – “America at Uncle David and Auntie Sue’s!” he correctly replied. “And where are you for your fifth birthday?” I asked. “Well usually I live in New Zealand but we are away on holiday so I don’t really know where I am!” he said sadly. A quick geography lesson followed.
What an action-packed day it was. He loved opening his presents and especially loved the Power Ranger pants, Shirley. First outing, we went salmon-fishing. Jonathan had his first go at fishing (Steve and Peter each caught one, ready to be eaten in the next few days). After lunch he had a go at blo-karting on the beach next to our motorhome site. The wind was gentle and the man put a 2m sail on especially for the boys to have a try. Then when you have a huge beach all to yourselves you can keep yourself busy flying a kite and digging huge car race tracks. Finally you have to blow out the candles on your cake, of course. Today was hot and sunny and was our last day at a beach on this trip. Enjoy the photos of Jonathan’s special day.
