Back on the grid

Sun 22nd Feb: We didn’t wake up until 9 o’clock. We’ve been really impressed everywhere we’ve stayed at how quiet it is on campsites, no mater how full they are, and we’ve never been disturbed by other campers. We didn’t leave camp until 11.30am and then set off on the 30-minute drive on the 10km track to tarmac and then back on to Takaka. We replenished our stocks at the supermarket and then headed a short distance north to a campsite on Tukura Beach. We weren’t very impressed with the site because they seemed to have lists of rules for everything and yet quite basic facilities considering what we had paid. But the beach was another stunner, and the boys happily played and played all afternoon. I took the opportunity to do 5 days of washing, bake bread, bake a cake etc before getting tea ready. How did Steve spend the afternoon? The photos answer that. He finally found peace and quiet to read his flying magazine.
